Your Privacy Matters

At SIMT, we believe that your privacy is fundamental. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our compass and navigation application.

Data and Privacy

Data Storage - Local First: All your data remains on your device. SIMT is designed with privacy as a core principle. All application data, including: Saved targets and locations, Custom notes and names, Compass calibration data, App preferences and settings. Everything is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers or in the cloud by default.
Data Backup: You may choose to use Google Sign-In to back up your SIMT data to your personal Google Drive. This feature is entirely optional. If enabled, SIMT requests restricted access only to a dedicated, app-specific folder within your Google Drive; it cannot access, read, or modify any of your other personal files. We do not process or store your Google Drive files on our servers. We only securely store your basic Google authentication identifier to manage your sign-in status, prevent duplicate accounts, and ensure a seamless experience.
Data Cleanup: To remove locally stored SIMT data from your device, open the Menu, select Data Management, then use the Clean up data control. You must navigate through Menu and Data Management before the cleanup action is available; follow that sequence, review any confirmation prompts, and proceed only when you intend to erase app data stored on your device.
Account Linking: You may choose to link your account with another user. This feature is optional and only operates if you explicitly grant permission.

No Data Sharing

We do not share your data with anyone. SIMT does not:

Share your data with third parties
Sell your data to advertisers
Use your data for analytics or tracking
Collect personal information without your explicit consent

Your privacy is protected by design.

Location Services

SIMT uses your device's location services to provide compass and navigation features. This location data is:

Processed entirely on your device
Never transmitted to our servers
Only used for the app's core functionality

You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings.

Free and Open

SIMT is completely free to use. We do not monetize your data because we don't collect it. There are no hidden costs, no premium features that compromise your privacy, and no data harvesting.

Voluntary Support

You may voluntarily support the developer and the continued development of SIMT in two optional ways: by donating money through an in-app purchase (which may include a digital gift or token of appreciation in return), or by voluntarily watching an advertisement. Both options are entirely optional and do not affect your access to the app's features. When you watch an ad, the advertising network may process data in accordance with its own policy; when you donate or pay through the app, the transaction is processed by the applicable app store. We do not use these support mechanisms to collect or link additional personal data beyond what is necessary for the transaction or ad delivery.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
